At this third stop on our Virtual Israel Tour we will be taking in two separate sites.

The first of these stops will be at the gates of the ruined city of Dan — the northernmost city of ancient Israel, which now is right on the border with Lebanon. At this site in 1994, an inscription was found that almost certainly includes a reference to the royal house of David.  This is significant because some scholars of ancient Israel have claimed that there was no King David — that he was just a legend, since no record of David existed until that time outside the Bible. This inscription proves that King David and his royal line of kings actually did exist, just as the Bible says.

We will also stop at Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947. Once again skeptical scholars have claimed that we cannot trust that the Bible has been copied accurately over many centuries, and that so many changes happened since the original books were written that we can have no idea what they originally said. But the finding of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 proved that, that the copies we use as the basis for our Bibles are remarkably accurate and that the people who coped the manuscripts over the years were incredibly careful. So, Qumran is important because it gives us confidence that they Bible we read and study are trustworthy.

Come along with Melinda and me as we visit these sites in Israel.  Best of all—this tour is free!  Consider this a gift from us and from Aspect Ministries.
